Detection of safe areas

Safe-Area.svg

What should I bear in mind when using this function?

  • The recognition of safe areas (formerly: zone management) can be switched on or off in the alea cockpit according to the indication of the care recipient.

  • This function should only be used for people suffering from mild, moderate and severe dementia or cognitive impairment, including wandering.

  • A corresponding need for care, dementia, Alzheimer's disease or mental or behavioural disorders occurring with dementia should be monitored by the care team in the context of this function.

  • People in need of care without risk behaviour such as wandering (e.g. in the context of dementia) should be excluded from the function.

  • The application can be short-term, but also routine-based and long-term.

What exactly does the application do?

  • The application informs care staff in real time whether a patient has left a predefined security area (e.g. the room, ward or building of a care setting)

  • The aim is to prevent further illnesses, injuries or a lack of medical services (e.g. medication)

  • As a carer, you should be able to react immediately in order to recognise wandering at the end, especially in the case of care recipients with dementia or cognitive impairments
