Welcome to alea

Welcome to alea®

Dear carers
and care managers,

We are delighted that you have decided in favour of alea. Before you get started with the application, you will find below all the relevant information on using alea and a detailed description of all the functions of the alea digital care assistance system.

What is alea?

alea is a digital care assistance system. It is not intended to replace care or the generally applicable or existing care processes for the benefit of care recipients. The product is intended to facilitate care-relevant components and workflows within the various care settings and to function preventively in the interests of care recipients (and with or through them). alea must under no circumstances replace the applicable immediate measures in medically critical to life-threatening situations and is not to be used in the context of emergency medical care.

Intended use

The alea digital assistance system is intended for the (non-medically relevant) support of care processes and for the (medically relevant) prevention of illnesses. In this sense, it serves to prevent injuries to care recipients within these care processes. This is achieved by supporting the change management of incontinence products and the monitoring of positions and movements.

That's why alea exists

Our system has been specially developed for continuous use in the care of care recipients. It serves to relieve the burden on carers in various care settings. The early detection and communication of urine in the incontinence product (IKP) can optimise time-related processes in day-to-day care. In the long term, alea supports general incontinence management as well as non-medical and administrative processes and thus actively contributes to improving the overall quality of care and lifestyle.

Before you start, read the first chapter

Even though the handling was developed with and for carers, we would like to point out that incorrect handling and improper use can lead to less than optimal use of alea. We therefore ask you to read our instructions for use carefully and follow them precisely. Always keep them to hand.

alea is an assistance system

The system does not offer 100% accuracy. Depending on the application context, our system achieves up to 90% accuracy in correctly displaying the urine filling level in the IKP. Ultimately, the system is only as good if you, as the person responsible for care and carer, accept the system and integrate it into your daily care work based on trust. Of course, alea does not take care decisions and care itself off your hands. It is designed to support you in basing your decisions on digital and valid real-time information and thus improve them in the long term.

We are here for you

We want alea to make centralised processes in daily care work easier in the long term and not cause any additional work. If there are any problems with the application, we are always available for you. All questions and comments are our top priority. All contact information can be found in this manual and on the back page.

Thank you for using alea!
