How can I recognise that the alea clip is connected correctly?

Short answer
  • When you have correctly attached the alea clip to the pocket of the smart incontinence product, the clip LED first lights up blue, then green

  • In the event of a fault:

    • Disconnect the alea dock and the alea routers from the power supply to force a new connection and setup of the system.

    • Check the status LEDs and status displays of each component (see section 2.3.3).

    • Make sure that the apps are installed and used correctly.

    • Ideally, carry out the function test as described at Chapter 2.5.

    • If you continue to experience problems, please contact alea support.

More details

Do alea-Clip or the alea-Dock send acoustic signals?

Short answer
  • No, the alea hardware does not currently send any acoustic signals

  • However, together with our customers and users, we are examining the option of realising helpful acoustic signals in the alea components.

How should I use smartphones with alea in my everyday care routine?

Short answer
  • We recommend at least one end device per area of use, ideally one device (and therefore user account) per user/carer

  • We will be happy to advise you on the purchase of smartphones for your day-to-day care (e.g. leasing of prepared devices, e.g. to comply with hygiene regulations)

  • In general, the way in which such devices are used depends on personal preference, but of course also on the rules of the facility.

  • Note: Please ensure that the use of a mobile end device does not interfere with your normal care tasks.

More details

Can I recognise a stand-up movement or similar event in the alea app?

Short answer
  • Yes, a stand-up movement can always be derived as part of the "Recognise body position" function

  • Specifically, a person is recognised as "sitting" in order to infer, among other things, a movement or intention to stand up

  • We are currently working on displaying events relating to physical restlessness in the bedside context as well as in everyday mobile contexts

More details

Is alea suitable for dementia patients in terms of the components on the body?

Short answer
  • Yes, with the "area recognition" function, people with a tendency to wander (in the context of dementia-related restrictions) can be better cared for

  • With regard to the potential of a disruptive (physical) influence of the alea clip for dementia patients, we have no significant limitations

  • Provided that the use of incontinence pads for a (specific) person with dementia does not lead/has not led to any restrictions (e.g. due to unauthorised removal or destruction of the pad), there is nothing to prevent the use of alea (-Clip) for these people.

More details

If I replace the incontinence product, do I have to document anything in the alea app?

Short answer
  • No, the change is automatically saved as an event in the alea app by removing the clip and attaching it to a new product

  • There is an option to add manual documentation as part of changes and events

  • Note: All automatic and manual events in the alea app go into the connected care documentation of your facility

What is the difference between the alea dock and the alea router?

Short answer
  • The alea dock is located in the care recipient's room, alea routers are installed in communal areas (corridors, entrances and exits, dining rooms, etc.)

  • The alea dock and the alea router can both receive data from the clip and send it to the alea app and alea cockpit via the alea cloud using LTE and/or WiFi

  • But only the alea dock is also able to charge the alea clips
