Notes on this version

  • These instructions for use are aimed at carers who have professional care tasks or care responsibilities for people in need of care.

  • alea is basically suitable for all care work and living environments.

  • In practice, depending on the care setting or care environment, there are different approaches to care responsibility, installation and usage routines, which the manufacturer and its authorised partners ensure accordingly in operational customer and user support.

  • At its core, alea is a care assistance system that places the care recipient at the centre of all functions, application aspects and services.

  • alea can be used by both lay and professional carers. These instructions for use are therefore suitable for all user groups, but this version is primarily aimed at care professionals.

Why is the AssistMe digital assistance system called alea?

  • This is a first name that is easy to remember with its soft pronunciation and, with its double "a", supports a simple association with AssistMe and the benefit-based core aspect of (care) assistance.

  • Translated from ancient Greek, the name means "warmth" and "protection" and thus touches on two central aspects of basic nursing values. Literally, the name means above all "the speech or the one who speaks" and in this respect pays tribute to the functional core aspect of the system's information transfer.

  • In addition, the name means "the sublime" and symbolises through this context the high importance (also with regard to alea) of the quality of knowledge of personal carers in the context of communication with their care recipients.
