How does the fall detection work?
alea’s fall detection feature alerts carers in real time if a care recipient has fallen, enabling them to provide rapid assistance and prevent further injury. This function can be enabled or disabled on an individual basis for each person via the alea Cockpit.
Indications:
- Intended for use with: Care recipients with a proven risk of falling (ICD-10 R29.6) who require care (ICD-10 Z.74.-).
- Duration: Can be used in the short, medium or long term.
Objectives of the function:
- Rapid response to falls to prevent injuries or further health complications.
- Support for carers through immediate notification.
Instructions for use:
- The alea hardware has no direct contact with the skin. Measurement takes place contactlessly via the incontinence product.
- No change to existing care routines is required; serves as an additional aid.
Contraindication:
- Not suitable for people in need of care who are not at risk of falling.
Note: Fall detection does not replace standard care practices, but supplements them with real-time digital information.
