What Wi-Fi configurations does the alea network require?
The alea system can connect to the Internet via both LTE (mobile data) and Wi-Fi. If you experience connection issues when using LTE, you should set up a Wi-Fi network for the alea system.
Wi-Fi Settings
The Wi-Fi network should meet the following requirements:
- Encryption: WPA2 or WPA3
- Automatic IP assignment via DHCP
- Functioning Internet access
- Functioning DNS resolution
- No login page / no captive portal, such as those found in guest Wi-Fi networks
- Fixed SSID + PSK (provided upon request)
Required Port Openings
The gateways must be able to access the following connections:
- *.aleacloud.de
- TCP Port 443
- TCP Port 8883
These connections must not be blocked by a firewall, proxy, or content filter.
Important for stable operation
Please ensure that the Wi-Fi remains available at all times, even at night, and that routers, access points, or DNS services are not regularly shut down or restarted automatically.
If multiple Wi-Fi networks or VLANs are present, the network being used must have normal internet access to the services listed above.
